Raspberry Pi 5/8GB - SC1112 - The everything computer. Optimized.
Raspberry Pi 5 unleashes a 64-bit quad-core Arm Cortex-A76 at 2.4 GHz, delivering up to three times the CPU power of the Pi 4. Its 800 MHz VideoCore VII GPU drives dual 4Kp60 HDMI displays, while a re-engineered Image Signal Processor unlocks professional-grade camera capabilities.
At its heart is Raspberry Pi’s first in-house silicon, the RP1, doubling USB speeds, tripling camera/display bandwidth, boosting SD card performance, and adding PCIe 2.0 for blazing-fast peripherals. Powerful and versatile, it’s the most advanced Pi yet, built to power everything from creative projects to industrial applications.

FAQ
Will older versions of Raspberry Pi OS work with Raspberry Pi 5?
You will need the latest version of Raspberry Pi OS, Bookworm, for your Raspberry Pi 5.
Will my Raspberry Pi 4 power supply work with Raspberry Pi 5?
Raspberry Pi 5 is a higher-performance computer than Raspberry Pi 4, and you may have problems using an underpowered supply. We recommend a high-quality 5V 5A USB-C power supply.
Will my Raspberry Pi 5 fit my Raspberry Pi 4 case?
Raspberry Pi 5 won't fit the Raspberry Pi 4 Case. We recommend a Raspberry Pi Case for Raspberry Pi 5, designed to help you get the most out of our newest computer.
Does Raspberry Pi 5 need active cooling?
Raspberry Pi 5 is faster and more powerful than prior-generation Raspberry Pis, and like most general-purpose computers, it will perform best with active cooling. The Raspberry Pi Case for Raspberry Pi 5, with its integrated fan, is one way to provide this.

Impressive Upgrade!
I went from a Pi 4 w/ a gig of ram and a USB flash drive (which couldn't really run the GUI) to the Pi 5 w/ 8GB. The addition of the PCIe socket for an SSD is a fantastic upgrade. I'm using this for monitoring systems and notifications and it performs beautifully with a handful of heavy browser windows open.
Do yourself a favor and get the power supply. It really needs the 5V/5A if you have anything connected and it's rare to find something 5V rated for that much current. The active cooler is also worth the (very low) price. Most of the time the fan doesn't even run because the heatsink works well enough. -
It is it
It is fast ! Worth the money. Just wish they had more in stock
