This is a digital microphone for use with the various Arduino boards. It has a digital and/or analog output and is based on the LM386 amplifier for which there are extensive tutorials on-line. The sensor has 4 connections GND, Vcc, Digital Out, and Analog Out. It will work on either the 3.3v or 5v outputs from the Arduino with the same level of sensitivity. If the microphone picks up any sound signals it will send a digital signal to one of the Arduino’s digital pins. The gain of the LM386 amplifier can be adjusted using the potentiometer on the board.
